Kitchen Utility Worker

LOCATION: Chardon, OH

GENERAL SUMMARY

We are looking for a detail-oriented utility worker to assist the kitchen staff in providing healthy, nutritious meals for patients and residents in assisted living and nursing home. The utility worker’s responsibilities include providing clean, sanitary dishes and maintaining kitchens and dining areas to food service standards.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain a clean kitchen and properly wash and sort dirty dishes. Keep dish area free of clutter and organized paying special attention to “not restricting the flow” to maximize service.
2. Sets up dish stations, including dish machines, pot & pan area, dirty tray return area and sinks.
3. Maintains clean / dry floors in department throughout the shift.
4. Changes water of machines and sinks as required by business levels, and properly use chemical dilution.
5. Clean and maintain coffee, cappuccino, and cold drink machines
6. Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
7. Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
8. Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
9. Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
10. Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. The ability to comply with sanitation regulations.
3. Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
4. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to lift 40 pounds.

2.   Ability to stand for long periods.

3.   Ability to work in hot kitchen environment.
